Welcome to our web page! Here is some background on our ministry:
Prayer Shawls, lap robes (for those in wheelchairs), chemo caps, and baby caps and blankets made by our parishioners are given to anyone going through a difficult time.
These situations and individuals include: the home-bound, anyone diagnosed with a serious illness, those experiencing a difficult pregnancy or birth, those suffering the loss of a loved one, or anyone in need of a “hug from God” through the hands of our knitters and crocheters.
You can help! Please:
1) Notify the Church Office with the name and contact information for anyone you believe would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl ministry item
2) Attend one of our meetings to learn how to knit or crochet. You can make shawls, lap robes, chemo caps, and other items to give comfort in a friendly, encouraging group setting. Make an item and a friend at the same time!
3) Create at home. We can provide materials, prayers to say while you create, and encouragement. When you have finished the item, drop it off at either Lourdes or St. Anne Church Office, or bring it to a Prayer Shawl meeting. Please include your name with each item you drop off.
Prayer Shawl Meetings:
At Saint Anne: 2nd Sunday of each month, 10 – 11:30 in the Main Level meeting room
At Our Lady of Lourdes: 4th Sunday of each month, 11:45 – 1:15 in the Rectory Dining Room
